Project goals and objectives:

  • To develop capacities at 3 Georgian, 4 Ukrainian and 3 Uzbek engineering universities in order to implement advanced EU teaching methodology.
  • To modernise MSc and PhD engineering programmes by introduction of new interdisciplinary modules.
  • To bring new platform for academia-industry dialogue towards the relevance of higher engineering education to the technology challenges.

Activities:

  1. Analytic study of modern trends and concepts in higher engineering education.
  2. Comparative study of curriculum.
  3. Elaboration of the “Concept for the reform of higher engineering education”.
  4. Development of interdisciplinary modules for MSc and PhD levels.
  5. Development of the course materials.
  6. Installation of the Interfaculty Technology&Product Design Labs.
  7. Short-term upgrading courses for university teachers.
  8. Arrangement of the Workshops.
  9. Study of EU practices and methodology of academia-industry cooperation.
  10. Establishing of the Joint Curriculum Boards.
  11. Development of Action Plan for sustainable academia-industry dialogue.
  12. Quality control of the project.
  13. Dissemination activities.
  14. Teaching the updated programs and new modules.
  15. Study periods for Georgian, Ukrainian and Uzbek students in EU.
  16. Implementation of permanent colloquium for retraining of teaching staff.
  17. Commercial services of the Interfaculty Technology&Product Design Lab.

Expected results:

  1. Analysis of modern EU concepts of higher engineering education, comparative study of curriculum in EU and PC universities, concept of the higher engineering education reform, action plan towards sustainable academia-industry dialogue.
  2. Interdisciplinary modules embedded to several MSc and PhD programmes within 7 engineering domains taught at 3 Georgian, 4 Ukrainian and 3 Uzbek universities and related teaching materials.
  3. Interfaculty Technology & Product Design Lab and Joint Curriculum Boards established at 10 PC universities.
